I wanted to take a brief opportunity to pimp a couple of links that I’ve recently become aware of.
First off, I strongly encourage you to get in on the ground floor of The Pageant of the Transmundane, a fiction blog that just started up, which features the work of Huon Longman. Huon was kind enough to put together a very nice review of A Vessel for Offering over at Pages Unbound back in December, and his work Headache shows a great deal of promise. Check it out before it becomes all the rage.
Also, reader Jordan Dennis recently turned me on to manybooks.net. It’s an online archive for free e-books, similar to Wowio, only there are no download limits and you don’t have to sign up for anything, but with a much more impressive selection. I picked up fiction by Charlie Stross, James Patrick Kelly, and Tobias Buckell today. I’ve really just started digging into this resource, but it looks very impressive. With any luck, I’ll have A Vessel for Offering up over there in the next few days.
So, get out there and get reading.
Update: I got an e-mail from Matt over at manybooks.net, and he’s done a fantastic job of getting A Vessel for Offering up and running. Check out the link here, and start downloading to your heart’s content. And if you appreciate what Matt’s doing over there and get a spare second, drop him a line and let him know how much you appreciate the service. Or be really, really nice and slip a few bucks in his PayPal account. Hosting all of those free files can’t be cheap.
